1. To determine the minimum infectious dose of Melissococcus pluton required to initiate European foulbrood (EFB) in artifically raised honey bee larvae. 2. To determine whether 8 fatty acids (previously demonstrated to inhibit the growth of M. pluton) can protect honey bee larvae from infection with M. pluton. 3. To determine the minimum inhibitory concentration of oxytetracycline to M. pluton in artifically raised honey bee larvae.
