There are many examples where agricultural technology is moving faster than the rules and regulation underpinning its use.

As agriculture continues to become an increasingly technological savvy sector, the industry will face an increasing challenge to put in place appropriate regulation.

AgriFutures Australia’ involvement in the regulatory space is to look forward and ensure that, as new technology and innovation comes online, the sector is prepared and participates in necessary conversations around agriculture regulation.

  • Identify areas of the regulatory system that currently facilitate positive productivity and sustainability outcomes for farmers and regional communities
  • Identify measures that may be impeding the sector
  • Develop a shared understanding of the major regulation reform issues facing the sector.

Through our work in this space, we seek to explore risk mitigation, increase productivity and profitability of Australian farms, facilitate innovation across our rural industries, and enhance regional development and growth.
