Request for Quotation (RFQ) – Rice water productivity open innovation challenge

Request for Quotation (RFQ) – Rice water productivity open innovation challenge

This Request for Quotation (RFQ) is seeking services for the provision of an open innovation platform and management of the challenge process as part of the AgriFutures Rice Program.

The aim of this project is to provide AgriFutures Australia with an open innovation platform to gather ideas and identify new technology in response to the rice industry challenge of “improving water productivity for a large medium grain by 75% in five years”.

A key consideration for the selected platform will be the ability to assess the readiness of the technology/innovation for market, to assist the Rice Advisory Panel with priority setting for investment.

The Rice Program RFQ closes 12 noon (AEST) Friday, 7 August 2020.

For the rice industry to remain a competitive user of farm business resources, transformational change is required. To support this change, AgriFutures is seeking innovative ideas and options on new and emerging technologies to increase the competitiveness of rice. The open innovation platform, which is designed to capture ideas/innovations, will allow global consideration of the rice industry challenge of “improving water productivity for a large medium grain by 75% in five years”.

Ideas/innovations captured through the open innovation platform will be communicated back to AgriFutures Rice Program Advisory Panel for consideration and further investment.

The Rice water productivity open innovation challenge RFQ closes at 12 Noon (AEST) Friday, 7 August 2020.

Project deliverables

The successful applicant will be able to provide a fully functional open innovation platform that is ready to release the rice industry challenge. The ability to evaluate and track ideas throughout the process will be highly regarded. The final report containing ideas/innovations will be required by 21 October 2020.

Key questions for consideration:

  • Describe the open innovation platform your company can provide
  • Describe the ability to track and evaluate ideas throughout the process
  • Provide a workflow of the challenge management your company is able to provide
  • Please confirm your company will be able to deliver a report of results within the timeframe specified.
