Value Adding to Honey – Workshop

Summary

It is proposed to establish an integrated study using a suite of research providers to make multiple detailed assessments of the properties of a small number of honey samples, with a view to assembling a cohesive body of data.

Objective Summary

The aim of this proposal is to establish a validated basis for identification, accreditation and adoption for use of Australian honeys in their highest value roles. Use of honeys in premium roles can be expected to deliver optimum prices to industry, and, by diverting product from the commodity supply chain, to establish an increased ‘floorprice’ for those honeys remaining in that sector.
