  • Project stage: Closed

  • Project start date: Sunday, July 1, 2007

  • Project completion date: Tuesday, December 22, 2009

  • National Priority: NEPI-RD&E to generate benefit across several plant industries

Summary

This project aims to provide a source of reliable and current plant information useful for those commercialising new plant products in Australia and good advice on the process of new crop commercialisation. This will be achieved by revising and upgrading the Australian New Crops Website and adding some new features designed to assist new crop developers further and improve networking and collaboration. The website appears to be unique on the Internet for at least two reasons. It provides a suite of processes designed to assist new crop developers through the commercialisation process (10 steps of planning for individuals, Do Our Own Marketing Research (DOOR Marketing) for groups and 13 steps of commercialisation for new crop industries). It also provides an indication of the level of interest in individual plant species through the numbers of papers published. The current project will also entail moving the website to the RIRDC Website (Mr Sam Leone, Webmaster).
