Summary

This project aims to continue a long term commitment towards independent, efficient, reliable and accurate assessment and development of effective weed management programs for drill seeded (aerobic/dry) and water seeded (dry sown and pre-germinated) rice.

 

We propose to conduct annual replicated field trials to evaluate new and existing herbicides at both dedicated research sites and in rice grower’s fields.

 

Results will be used to support registrations and recommendations for inclusion in the Rice Crop Protection Guide as part of the rice industry commitment to sustainable farming practices.

 

Annual field days will be held to enable agronomists to inspect results first hand to lift and maintain competency and confidence when working with their rice growing clients to produce weed free crops year after year.

 

The project is offered as an extension of PRJ- 11136 Rice Weed Management in Australia that is due for completion in May 2022.
