Summary

This project is designed to address barriers that growers have towards adoption and uptake of agtech. The project raises awareness of products available, and it educates growers about what is potentially the most suitable system for them to implement. This project builds growers confidence in using the technology and clarifies the financial benefits that are achieved when technology is successfully applied and utilised within their livestock enterprise. Importantly, this project fosters an environment where growers engage in farmer-to-farmer learning, a highly effective method for promoting on-farm change. It also engages a group of growers with industry representatives, not only allowing growers to learn from technology developers and retailers but also to then discuss their assessment of each technology within the trusted network of the grower group. This project is also likely to establish new relationships and networks between participants which will then continue to operate as support networks for both running and maintaining current on-farm technologies as well as promoting adoption of new technologies in the future as growers continue to share information between themselves.
