Summary

Monaro Farming Systems will coordinate a Regional Agricultural Technology Symposium, which will run over a full day. The symposium will  involve practical demonstrations and technical presentations of the relevant technologies for the Southern NSW grazing Industry, tailored specifically to the Monaro production systems. As a successful, credible farming systems producer group, with 14 years of collective data and service delivery, MFS will be able to tailor the day to the needs of our community. With the Monaro being primarily a livestock grazing area but with a growing cropping influence, the day would focus on emerging technologies such as: 

• electronic livestock data collection and management systems (EID tags & associated software)
• remote sensoring of pasture growth potentials (satellite imagery)
• targeted weed eradication using pilot robotics (Kelpie)
• whole farm connectivity options / technologies ie probes, sensors, cameras, drones for watering points, checking lambing stock etc.
• precision ag technologies ie. GPS systems & automatic steering for cropping systems, fertiliser variable rate input application technologies, remote sensing, in-field electronic sensors, section and row control on planters, sprayers and fertilizer applicators, and spatial data management systems (GIS mapping systems)

The day be held on farm, which will enable some actual, demonstrations of the targeted technologies. The day would be opened up to not only MFS members, but also any other interested Monaro farmers, to reach the maximum amount of participants. Local caterers and bus transport companies will be engaged. Targets – engage 150 producers on the Monaro
