Nutritional sufficiency of Australia's food production system

Summary

This study will be the first to assess the Australian food production system in its ability to meet future domestic nutritional requirements and will create a framework and baseline for future assessment. This highlevel study is expected to create strategic insights relating to: Future Australian agricultural exports Future food import dependence The implication of Australian dietary recommendations Government policy with regards to domestic food security and the potential to contribute to international food security by way of Australian food exports Government policy on matters affecting agricultural productivity and expansion Government policy on matters which may impact the profitability and competitiveness of the Australian food industryIt is anticipated that this initial study will identify issues requiring further detailed research.
