Summary

Riverine Plains Inc (a farming systems group covering North East Victoria and Southern NSW) is planning a two day “Innovation Expo” in August 2021.The conference will target the adoption of new technologies for mixed farming to improve farming practice, particularly in our region, but we hope to attract growers from across Australia. The first day is to be a field day and the second day a conference.The field day will look at least 4 different technologies in the field. The aim is to have 100 farmers and advisors in the field, split into 4 groups looking at technologies such as:- Virtual fencing- In crop NDVI for nitrogen management- Swarm bots for weed management and/or weed seeker for weed management- Protein monitoring in the header for improved nitrogen management- Soil amelioration machinery. Each group will spend 1-1.5 hours with each technology leaving time for discussions with those technologies of particular interest to attendees.The second day will be a conference style format with a series of speakers detailing innovative technologies across all aspects of mixed farming. The conference is about showing growers innovative technologies in their own environment to facilitate engagement and adoption.
