Summary
Over the last decade or so, there has been growing awareness of the potential that Australian native foods offer for the development of new and emerging industries. This is particularly important for regional and remote communities. It is also very important for Indigenous Australians. In order for this potential to be fulfilled, there are a number of different challenges that need to be meet. The goal of the proposed research project is to begin to work towards resolving the key legal and regulatory challenges that constrain the growth and uptake of novel natives foods. It also aims to identify possible solutions to these problems which may be topics for further research.
