Summary

​The objective of this project is to prepare a synthesis of the learnings to date related to farmers participation in carbon farming, the barriers to farmers from participating in carbon markets within Australia, and to provide recommendations to improve farmers participation in carbon farming.

The output from our research project we will produce a single synthesis report that details: ● A synthesis of current and future carbon market opportunities for agriculture within Australia ● Discussion on the potential returns from carbon farming ● Review and synthesis of international schemes and opportunities for agriculture ● Outcomes from engagement with key Stakeholders, including farmers, aggregators, and industry professionals ● Discussion on barriers and approaches to incentify involvement of agriculture ● Discussion on policy requirements for participation, including opportunities to reduce complexity of participation. ● Discussion of the future research needs
