  • Project start date: Saturday, May 29, 2021

  • Project completion date: Sunday, May 29, 2022

  • National Priority: AFI - AgriFood Innovation

Summary

The project involves showcasing a number of different technological solutions to identified pain-points on various farming properties to create an AgTech Farm Trail.Initially, FAN would work with local producers to identify 4 – 5 key pain-points within their farming practices that technology could potentially solve. This will inform the basis for the workshops. Following this, the group would work with AgriFutures and Landcare Farming to identify a number of potential solutions to each of these pain-points. FAN members would be provided with the opportunity to host a ‘demo’ day at their properties, with each property showcasing 3 – 4 solutions to a particular pain-point, hence creating an AgTech Farm Trail. Each solution would be assessed by the group on a number of criteria and the best solution identified. This could extend to a winner being announced in a ‘shark tank’ style voting process. There would be opportunities for the technology providers to work with FAN and / or Landcare on running pilots if mutually beneficial. The AgTech Farm Trail would also be open to other FAN and Landcare members in order to leverage the opportunity. Landcare Farming has agreed to provide significant in-kind sponsorship for the project.
