The Australian Ginger Industry Association (AGIA) understands that to achieve that principal it has to engage a Research and Development extension/education officer to manage communication within industry and its supply chain.

The responsibilities that will enable the officer to achieve increased knowledge transfer with industry and drive an inclusive uptake along the entire supply chain include:
• Identify and engage in R&D opportunities for the industry; :
• Work in consultation with research bodies and other stakeholders to hold information sessions where appropriate; and
• Interpretation of R&D projects and delivery of such to stakeholders.

Objective Summary

The officer will develop a plan in conjunction with the RIRDC R&D Advisory Committee and Peak Industry Body (PIB) to outline industry’s commitment to all supply chain stakeholders which will ultimately determine an all-inclusive program to build consumer demand and improve consistent productivity and supply.

This can only be achieved with direct involvement and engagement with all stakeholders in the ginger industry.

Extension of Research & Development Outcomes is a pivotal role of the officer ensuring that all stakeholders are kept up to date on outcomes and milestone reports relating to any R&D or biosecurity issues relating to the ginger industry.
