Development of a National RD&E Plan for the Australian Industrial hemp industry

Summary

The Project aims to identify and progress key issues and opportunities that enable growth of the Australian industrial hemp sector. The project will be managed by the Australian Industrial Hemp Alliance (AIHA), the peak national industry body for the industrial hemp sector and involve representatives of supply and value chain, research, and government sectors. A Project Manager will be appointed to drive the development of a national RD&E Plan, coordinate the activities of the project teams and working groups, and ensure optimal collaboration between stakeholders in progressing selected development opportunities.

Objective Summary

The main objectives are (1) the development of a national RD&E Plan for the industrial hemp industry which underpins the industry’s Strategic Plan and has been extensively tested with industry stakeholders; (2) the progression of selected development opportunities arising from the RD&E Plan; and (3) the publication and extension of project outcomes.
