Objective Summary

The aim of the strategy is to identify and propose implementation of a range of biosecurity activities in the honey bee industry, which when linked form a coordinated biosecurity program, which deliver on industry’s and governments biosecurity vision. The strategy will build on the outcomes of the National AFB Workshop which was held at Australian National University on the 14th and 15th of March 2013The strategy will incorporate AFB, but also included other established pests and diseases, exotic pest and diseases, surveillance, research and development, amongst other components as determined by the Industry Working Group (IWG), which was likely to meet the needs of both industry and government into the future.
