Summary

This project takes the gains that have been achieved in recent years with the Wildflower industry, including the formation of an industry body, the creation of quality standard specifications, a newly updated post-harvest manual, the education of the market chain, successful market development in Japan, as well as farm production programs and canopy management R&D – and gets these COMMUNICATED to and USED by the industry.
The focus of the project is on better communicating to growers, to florists and to the general public – with the intent of creating better unity, more cohesion, better adoption of R&D outputs, and thus a building of the industry.

Objective Summary

This project has as its main objective to enhance the human capital of the industry and consequent research knowledge and adoption, however in saying this, it is estimated that this project will have impact on each of the other R&D Objectives for wildflowers, as a result.

The plan is that by building on the capability and ability of WFA to communicate to members and to the general public, we can get better use of R&D outcomes and outputs, get more cooperation and networking within the industry, and can build the industry both in terms of size and viability.
