Agricultural Health and Safety Statistics


This project aims to track annual statistics on farm deaths and injuries. Agriculture is recognised as a highly dangerous sector worldwide, hence the use of evidencebased solutions to address injury related incidents are critical to prevention. The service provider will assesses data from the National Coroner's Information System and other information sources to gather data on unintentional farm injury and deaths in Australia. The information will also provide categorise the leading causes of death (tractors, quads, water/dams, farm utilities, motorcycles and horses, as well as general farm safety information such as projections of economic costs associated with these incidents.

Objective Summary

The service provider will report quarterly. The March and September reports will be presented in a high level fact sheet covering the previous three months. The June and December reports will be a more comprehensive overview of the year to date and provide a higher level of statistical analysis.
