Ability of rice-based farming systems to adapt to Climate Change

Summary

The project proposal would involve all sectors of the industry in a carefullymanaged process that provides a common understanding of future problems and opportunities. A suitable means of achieving this would be through a scoping workshop attended by a broadbased range of participants from the various sectors of the irrigated farming industry. The workshop would examine emerging issues through the prior preparation of a scoping paper, amplified by presentations by selected keynote speakers. A facilitated process could then develop appropriate strategies and project areas for subsequent development. It would also be important to identify funding options, and to identify which parts of the supply chain should be involved in high priority projectsinto the future.
