This report describes the requirements and resulting implications for the chicken meat industry of the change of the regulatory air dispersion model of the Environmental Protection Authority of Victoria from AUSPLUME to AERMOD. Presented is a comparative study of the requirements of these two air dispersion models, along with that of a third model, CALPUFF, with regards to the time taken for each assessment, model input requirements and differences in the predicted results between the three models for two fictional idealised representative meat chicken farms in two different Victorian regional environments.
