Heart disease is an important cause of poor performance and death in horses. This RIRDC research develops a quick and simple method for identification of heart muscle disease in horses. Improving diagnostic and prognostic ability in cardiac (heart) disease in horses is of enormous importance for safety of horses and riders.
The main beneficiaries from the research will be the veterinarians in equine related fields and trainers, jockeys and riders of horses in all equine performance and leisure activities.
