In light of the COVID-19 restrictions currently in place, the AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award Gala Dinner & National Announcement planned event in Canberra on Wednesday, 25 August 2021 will now be conducted online on Wednesday, 20 October 2021.

The AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award National Announcement will continue the long-standing tradition of celebrating the work and achievements of the seven impressive 2020 State and Territory Winners vying for the National Winner and Runner Up awards.

The online festivities will be hosted by the 2019 AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award National Winner, Jo Palmer. The National Winner and Runner Up announcement will move to a day-time event to encourage Australia-wide online viewing, participation and to cater for different time zones.

“We may not be able to hold a dinner in Canberra in 2021, however we now have a unique opportunity to bring the celebrations to local communities, offices and households across Australia. We will be pulling out all-stops to make this a high impact national event”, said AgriFutures Australia, Managing Director, John Harvey.

The change in format for 2021 is required purely for COVID-19 reasons and we look forward to resuming our traditional ceremony in Parliament House in 2022.

AgriFutures will release more information on the announcement ceremonies in the coming weeks. The virtual event will be free to everyone who registers.

Ticket holders to the dinner in Canberra will be contacted directly and will be provided with a full refund.

AgriFutures would like to thank everyone for the support and interest in the AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award program and looks forward to celebrating the efforts and achievements of our seven 2020 State and Territory Winners with viewers from right across Australia.

Applications for the 2022 AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award will open on Thursday, 26 August 2021 as originally planned. Additionally, applications for the new AgriFutures Rural Women’s Acceleration Grant will also open on Thursday, 26 August 2021.
