The Climate Research Strategy for Primary Industries (CRSPI) is pleased to announce the Climate and Carbon
in Agriculture Conference 2020.

Being held at the Adelaide Convention Centre on 31 March and 1 April 2020, CRSPI will bring together people from across a wide range of commodity sectors, primary producers, government, investors and researchers to arm attendees with the latest climate and carbon related information and strategies for the agricultural sector.

NSW DPI Director of Climate and CRSPI Chair, Dr Jason Crean said that the conference will consider how a changing climate translates for agricultural businesses, “This major event gives us the opportunity to take on the challenge of growing our sector to $100 billion by 2030 while adapting to and mitigating the effects of climate,” Dr Crean said.

A range of international and Australian based speakers will engage participants on both mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to our changing climate – from a research, production and business perspective. The focus will be on sharing and collaborating with an exciting mix of speakers, panels and
discussion.

“Our changing climate presents a range of challenges and opportunities for Australian primary industries, and the most effective response includes coordinated research, development and extension across sectors and regions. We will showcase what is already being done by producers, some of the tools already available for businesses to use to adapt to climate and reduce emissions, as well as sharing some of the innovations in the pipeline.”

“We encourage all producers, researchers, policy makers, service providers and students to mark this important conference on their calendar,” Dr Crean said.

The conference program and registration information will become available in the coming months. You can register your interest at www.crspi.com.au
