This fact sheet is part of a 13-part native food series.

Muntries are found along Australia’s southern coast in Victoria and South Australia, as well as in the Big Desert region of North West Victoria.

In the wild, the shrub takes the form of a ground cover, with branches spreading for up to three metres or more. The berries are up to one centimetre in size, green to red in colour, with a purplish tinge appearing as they ripen.
